Operating Parameters

Channels and Voltage: ABB DI821 is an 8-channel, 230 V AC/DC digital input module. The input voltage range is 164 V to 264 V (AC), and the input current is 11 mA (230 V AC). The input DC voltage range is 175 ~ 275 V, and the input current is 1.6 mA at 220V DC.

Input Impedance: The AC input impedance is 21 kΩ, and the DC input impedance is 134 kΩ.

Isolation: The input is isolated by transaction for high reliability and noise immunity.

Digital Filter Time: 2, 4, 8 or 16 milliseconds (selectable)

Input Frequency Range: The input frequency range is between 47 and 63 Hz.

MTU: The MTU can limit the sensor current power.

Maximum field cable length: 200 m (219 yd)/100 pF/m (AC); 600 m (656 yd) (DC).

Rated insulation voltage and dielectric test voltage: Rated insulation voltage is 250 V, dielectric test voltage is 2000 V AC.

Power dissipation: Nominal power dissipation is 2.8W.

Product features

8-channel 120 V AC/DC input: ABB DI821 allows multiple digital input signals to be processed simultaneously.

Isolation between individual channels: All input channels have considerable isolation from each other to eliminate any interference that may occur between channels and provide accurate and reliable input signals.

Voltage monitoring: S1 can be used as a voltage monitoring input for S2 S4, and S8 can be used as a voltage monitoring input for S5 S7. When the voltage on channel 1 or 8 disappears, the error input is activated and the warning LED flashes. The error signal can be read from the module bus.

Input status indicator: Each input channel has an input status indicator LED, which can visually check the input status.

Signal filtering: The silicon itself has an analog filter (response time of 6 milliseconds) that can eliminate noise or interference on the input signal to improve signal quality.

Application range

Manufacturing: ABB DI821 is used to monitor the status of various sensors, switches and other digital input devices used on the production line, such as workpiece detection, actuator placement and safety device status.

Process control: In process control applications, ABB DI821 can monitor process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow switch, etc., and provide input signals to the control system to ensure that the process is working properly.
