Product Features
ABB IMDSI14 is equipped with 16 optically isolated digital input channels, supporting 48VDC signals with an input impedance of 4.7 kΩ, enabling precise detection of the on/off status of sensors or switches. With a response time of <1 ms, it meets the demands of high-speed real-time control applications.
ABB IMDSI14 adopts optically isolated technology (isolation voltage: 2500V AC), which can effectively block electromagnetic interference, ensuring stability in harsh industrial environments.
ABB IMDSI14 has self-diagnostic function to real time detection of input status, supporting fault alarms and rapid fault localization. Its modular design allows for hot-swappable components, facilitating system expansion and maintenance.
ABB IMDSI14 supports mainstream industrial protocols such as Modbus and Profibus, enabling seamless integration into ABB Infi 90, Net 90, 800xA, and other DCS systems, as well as communication with third-party PLCs or control systems.
Product Using Principle
ABB IMDSI14 isolates the 48VDC digital signals from field devices from the control system via optocouplers to prevent electrical interference. The signals are converted to TTL levels after voltage division and filtering, processed by the control logic module, and transmitted to the controller via the I/O expansion bus. Each input channel is equipped with an independent LED indicator to display the signal status in real time. The module supports address dip switch settings (S1 switch) for flexible configuration of addresses within the DCS system.
Product Application
ABB IMDSI14 can monitor the operating status of pumps, valves, and motors, enabling remote start/stop and fault alarms.
It can detect safety switches, limit switches, and other devices to ensure the safe operation of production lines.
It can implement interlock control and sequential control.
It can count the number of sensor activations, which can be used for production counting or equipment maintenance cycle management.
It can be used in the power industry to monitor the on/off status of circuit breakers, and in the chemical industry to monitor reactor safety interlocks.
It can be integrated with the ABB 800xA system to achieve plant-wide data acquisition and monitoring (SCADA).
