Product Using Principle

ABB IMMFP02 executes control algorithms via a microprocessor and exchanges data with I/O modules through an I/O expansion bus (8-bit parallel bus, supporting up to 64 I/O modules). The Controlway or module bus is used for communication with other intelligent modules, and DMA circuits accelerate high-speed data transmission.

When the main module is executing control logic, the backup module continuously receives the output data from the main module in real time via a redundant link and remains in a hot standby state. If the main module fails, the backup module immediately takes over control to ensure uninterrupted process operation.

In execution mode, the module continuously performs self-checks. If an error is detected, it displays the error code via an LED and enters error mode.
