Brand: ABB Description: PDP800 Module Mounting Base Condition: Brand New Certificate: COO TEST REPORT WARRANTY LETTER Warranty: 1 year Inventory Qty: 1 Payment Term: T/T Shipping Port: Xiamen The PTU810 is not a communication or control module itself; rather, it serves as a mounting base within the ABB Symphony Plus DCS system, specifically designed for paired, redundant PDP800 PROFIBUS DP interface modules. It is intended for use in conjunction with the PDP800.
The ABB PTU810 is a redundant installation base for the PDP800 PROFIBUS communication module in the Symphony Plus DCS system. It does not have independent control and communication functions by itself. Its core function is to carry a pair of PDP800s, providing mechanical fixation, backplane interconnection, and ground shielding. It realizes PROFIBUS bus interface redundancy and supports hot-swapping of modules, and is widely used in continuous industrial control scenarios such as thermal power, chemical industry, and water treatment where the machine cannot be shut down.

Product Advantages
1. Redundant dual-module carrying: The base can simultaneously insert two PDP800 PROFIBUS DP communication cards, forming a PROFIBUS interface redundant configuration to achieve primary and backup switching.
2. Electrical interconnection and backplane signal routing: The base is equipped with an internal backplane bus to achieve synchronization, status interaction, and power distribution between the two PDP800s, realizing redundant switching logic.
3. DIN rail mechanical fixation: Standard 35mm DIN rail installation, providing mechanical locking and positioning structure, firmly fixing the entire PDP800 redundant pair.
4. Interface lead-out positioning: Reserve the positioning of the PROFIBUS DP interface and work in conjunction with the PDP800 to lead-out the PROFIBUS bus.
5. Grounding and shielding convergence: Integrated grounding path, facilitating PROFIBUS bus shielding grounding and reducing on-site EMI interference.
6. Hot-swappable support base: The base remains stationary. The PDP800 module supports online hot-swapping, and the module can be replaced separately without removing the base.
Application Scenarios
1. Thermal power/gas power station DCS system: Symphony Plus unit control, PROFIBUS bus connected intelligent valve positioners, transmitters, and frequency converters, redundant PROFIBUS interfaces are adopted to ensure uninterrupted operation of the units.
2. Petrochemical process equipment: Continuous processes in oil refining and chemical engineering cannot be shut down. Redundant PROFIBUS links ensure the reliability of on-site instrument communication.
3. Large-scale automatic control projects for water treatment: water plants, sewage treatment plants, a large number of PROFIBUS instruments and electric actuators, and bus redundancy on the DCS side.
4. Continuous production lines for papermaking and metallurgy: Continuous production process, PROFIBUS bus control transmission equipment, communication link redundancy to prevent full line shutdown.
5. Symphony Plus DCS Renovation Project: Upgrade the old system, add redundant PROFIBUS DP interfaces, and connect to third-party PROFIBUS field devices.
Installation and Maintenance
1. Cabinet pre-installation: Insert the PTU810 snapper onto the 35mm DIN rail inside the control cabinet and lock the snapper plate to complete the mechanical fixation.
2. Backplate inspection: Confirm that the backplate of the base is undamaged and the internal contact points are clean and intact.
3. Install the PDP800 module: Insert the two PDP800 modules vertically into the two slots of the PTU810 and secure them firmly.
4. Power supply wiring: Connect 24VDC redundant power supply to the PDP800 (power supply for the module, not for the base separately).
5. PROFIBUS bus wiring: The PDP800 comes with a PROFIBUS interface and can be connected to the on-site PROFIBUS DP bus.
6. System Configuration: In the Symphony Plus engineering software, identify redundant PDP800 and configure PROFIBUS slave stations.
7. Power-on debugging: Upon power-on, the back plate of the base automatically completes the redundant synchronization of the two PDP800s. Test the primary and backup switching.
8. Maintenance and Replacement: When a single PDP800 malfunctions, simply unlock and remove the faulty module. Insert the new module into the base and restore it online. The base does not need to be disassembled.
Note: The PTU810 has no independent power supply or communication capability and must be used in conjunction with the PDP800 module to function.
