Product Description

The 144-134-000-612 is a Parker Meggitt CA134 integrated 2-meter armored MI cable piezoelectric acceleration sensor. It converts vibration into charge signals by compressing piezoelectric crystals and has differential insulation output for anti-interference. It supports continuous operation at -54 to 500℃, with the cryogenic model having a minimum temperature of -253 ℃. It holds global explosion-proof qualifications such as ATEX, CNEx, and IECEx, and is suitable for vibration monitoring in gas turbines, explosion-proof areas in the chemical industry, and low-temperature equipment. The nickel alloy airtight housing is resistant to impact and corrosion. Factory calibration does not require re-inspection. It is equipped with an IPC70x regulator to collect vibration data ranging from 0.5 to 6000Hz. The triangular base is easy to install and comes with a dedicated high-temperature extension cable, making it suitable for long-term online monitoring in various extremely harsh industrial environments.

Different versions of the CA134 piezoelectric accelerometer

Basic Model: CA134 High Temperature Piezoelectric Accelerometer

Part Number 144-134-000-612: Version with integrated 2-meter mineral insulated (MI) armored cable and original high-temperature connector; also available in the same series are bare sensor 144-134-000-203 and integrated cable version 144-134-000-613.

Product Positioning: Intrinsically safe, explosion-proof, ultra-wide temperature range industrial vibration monitoring sensor, specifically designed for long-term online vibration acquisition in gas turbines, chemical explosion-proof areas, and cryogenic equipment.

Core working principle

144-134-000-612 adopts a compressed piezoelectric sensing element without built-in power supply and operates relying on the piezoelectric effect: the operation of the equipment generates vibration acceleration, and the mechanical force compresses the internal piezoelectric crystal. Piezoelectric materials deform under force and output a charge signal proportional to the acceleration (sensitivity 10pC/g). The internal structure features shell insulation and differential dual-pin output to isolate common-mode interference from the casing. The signal is transmitted via the built-in double braided armored MI cable, and at the back end, it is equipped with an IPC70x charge converter to convert the charge signal into a standard voltage signal for system collection. The fully sealed nickel alloy welded shell isolates temperature changes, water vapor and corrosion. The explosion-proof internal structure eliminates electric sparks, meeting the usage requirements in hazardous areas.

Summary of product advantages and disadvantages

Advantages:

Ultra-wide temperature range coverage, suitable for both high and low temperature conditions; cryogenic version adapted for special cryogenic equipment;

Hermetically sealed nickel alloy shell + differential insulation output, corrosion-resistant and electromagnetic interference-resistant;

Multi-national explosion-proof certification integrated, globally compatible equipment for export;

Permanent factory calibration, no on-site calibration required, low long-term maintenance costs;

Original factory integrated MI armored cable, sealed in one piece, reducing the risk of air and heat leakage during on-site wiring.

Limitations:

Charge output requires a dedicated IPC70x charge amplifier; cannot be directly connected to a voltage acquisition module;

Strict bending requirements for MI cables, limiting wiring in confined installation spaces;

Single sensor only measures along one axis; multi-dimensional monitoring requires multiple sensors arranged in combination.

Application Scenarios

The CA134 Vibration excels in a variety of conditions:

Gas turbine vibration monitoring – stable operation in 500℃ high-temperature environments, the mainstay model for measuring vibration of gas turbine cylinders and bearings.

Petrochemical explosion-proof areas – full range of explosion-proof certifications covering refining and chemical plants and offshore platforms.

Cryogenic scenarios – vibration monitoring of cryogenic pumps and turbine machinery in liquid nitrogen/liquid hydrogen environments (cryogenic version).

Power industry – vibration of steam turbine and generator bearing housings.

Other harsh industrial environments – condition monitoring of equipment in high-temperature production lines in metallurgy, glass, ceramics, etc.
