Functions:

Power Input and Conversion: It can accept a wide range of input voltages and convert them to voltages that are acceptable for use by other 3500 modules in the system. This provides a stable power supply for the entire machinery protection system. For example, it can handle input voltage options such as 175 to 264 VAC RMS (247 to 373 VAC, pk), with a frequency range of 47 to 63 Hz.

Backup Power Support: In a system where two power supplies are installed, if the Bently 125840-01 is one of them, the second supply can act as a backup for the primary supply. This ensures the continuous operation of the system even if one power supply fails or is being maintained. When two power supplies are used, the supply in the lower slot is the primary supply, and the one in the upper slot acts as the backup.

Overvoltage and Undervoltage Protection: For all power supply versions, an under-voltage situation will not harm the power supply or the PIM. However, an over-voltage will cause the fuse on the PIM to open, protecting the system and connected devices from damage.

Usage:

Installation: The Bently Nevada 125840-01 is a half-height module that must be installed in the specially designed slots on the left side of the 3500 series rack. The power input module is located at the rear of the corresponding power supply.

Configuration and Monitoring: The module may need to be configured using appropriate software or tools to ensure that it is set up correctly for the specific requirements of the machinery protection system. Additionally, the system can be monitored through various means such as the front panel LEDs. For instance, there is a Power OK LED that indicates when the power supply is working properly.

Compatibility: It is compatible with other components of the Bently 3500 system, such as the frame interface module (RIM). The RIM is the basic interface of the 3500 frame and supports Bently Nevada's proprietary protocol for frame configuration and information access.
