High-Precision Signal Acquisition Module: ABB AI835 8-Channel Thermocouple/mV Input Module Engineered for precision thermocouple and millivolt signal measurement with differential inputs. Features advanced common-mode noise suppression for ±0.05% accuracy, optimized for industrial temperature monitoring and microvolt-level signal detection.

The measurement range is flexible and configurable: Each channel supports a configurable measurement range, e.g. the voltage range can be set from -30 mV to +75 mV linear. Support up to 8 External Thermocouple types : B, C, E, J, K, N, R, S & T types. Its flexibility allows the module to easily be adapted to suit different sensor types to satisfy applications in various domains and to provide a high level of customizability in system design.

It also includes a linearization function: ABB AI835 integrates the cold junction compensation function, through the cold junction temperature to the reference junction (cold junction) temperature for accurate compensation in thermocouple measurement, to achieve high precision temperature measurement. Plus the module provides a linearization function, which can realize the linear output of thermocouples and other nonlinear signals, allowing the control system to be further operated directly.

Detection of input disconnection and protection of output short-circuit: ABB AI835 has built-in input disconnection detection function and can identify whether the sensor's wiring has been disconnected in real time, ensuring the reliability of the data acquisition system and supporting the triggering of alarms or corrective measures. ABB AI835 additionally has output short-circuit protection that protects the module and connected load from damage when the output circuit is short.

Gasrelaxation design: ABB AI835 provides galvanic isolation between input and output channels to prevent electric interference from affecting measurement signals. This isolation design reduces the risk of electric shock and equipment damage due to circuit separation, improving system safety while also protecting the module and other equipment from electrical faults.

Broad compatibility with multi-module terminal units (MTU): ABB AI835 supports wide range of MTU model including TU810, TU812, TU814, TU818, TU830 and TU833. This wide range of compatibility gives a lot of flexibility to integrate into systems so that users can choose different MTUs in accordance with that needs to gain additional functional capabilities like signal conditioning, terminating configuration or connecting options.
