Product Working Principle

Allen Bradley 1746-OW16 controls external loads through the mechanical switching of relay contacts. When the module receives a control signal from the processor, the internal relay coil is energized, the contacts close, and the external load circuit is connected; when the signal disappears, the coil is de-energized, the contacts open, and the load is disconnected.

Relay contacts are suitable for switching inductive or resistive loads and do not require additional surge suppression. However, it is recommended to install a suppressor on external inductive loads to extend contact life.

The terminal block supports a maximum wire size of 2mm² (14 AWG), with a maximum of 2 wires per terminal. The tightening torque is 0.9 Nm (8 lb-in.).
