Product Features
Allen Bradley 1747-ASB has 3 sets of DIP switches (SW1, SW2, SW3) for setting parameters such as logic rack number, communication rate, and image size.
Allen Bradley 1747-ASB has a 6-pin keyed connector for RIO link connection and processor restart lock switch wiring, cable retention slots, and self-locking clips.
Data output is transmitted from the local chassis (SLC/PLC) scanner via the RIO link to the 1747-ASB, then sent to the output module via the chassis backplane. Input data is collected by the 1747-ASB from the input module via the backplane, then returned to the scanner via the RIO link.
Allen Bradley 1747-ASB supports three I/O module addressing modes, 2-slot (2 slots form 1 logical group), 1-slot (1 slot forms 1 logical group), and 1/2-slot (1 slot forms 2 logical groups).
Green COMM LED (remains lit during normal operation), RED FAULT LED (lights up when a fault occurs).
Allen Bradley 1747-ASB supports daisy chain topology for connecting RIO devices, with a maximum of 32 adapters (if all devices have expansion node capability) or 16 (without expansion node capability).
Allen Bradley 1747-ASB can be configured with features such as “Hold Last State (HLS)” (discrete output modules retain their last state during communication interruptions) and “Processor Restart Lock (PRL)” (manual unlocking is required after communication resumes).
Green COMM LED (remains lit during normal operation), RED FAULT LED (lights up when a fault occurs).
Product Working Principle
The scanner of the main controller (local chassis) sends output data to the 1747-ASB via the RIO link. The module automatically transmits the data to the output modules of the remote chassis and expansion chassis via the chassis backplane.
Signals from the remote input modules are collected by the 1747-ASB via the chassis backplane and then returned to the scanner of the main controller via the RIO link.
Logic addresses, communication rates, and other parameters are set via DIP switches to ensure compatibility with the main controller's addressing method (SLC uses decimal, PLC uses octal), enabling plug-and-play I/O expansion without additional programming.
