Product Features
Allen Bradley 1756-IF6CIS features electrical isolation between channels to reduce interference and enhance system stability. An integrated isolated power supply provides each channel with a 28mA current-limited output, enabling direct power supply to two-wire transmitters without the need for an external power source.
Allen Bradley 1756-IF6CIS supports current input only, with a range of 0-20mA (over-range detection upper limit: 21.09376mA). With 16-bit resolution, the minimum detection accuracy is 0.34µA per count, enabling capture of minute signal changes.
Allen Bradley 1756-IF6CIS can perform open-circuit detection, when the signal line is disconnected or the terminal block is removed, the corresponding channel data is displayed as under/over-range values (floating-point mode) or specific counts (integer mode), and triggers a fault bit. Over/under-range detection is indicated via a status bit when the input signal exceeds the 0-20mA range.
Allen Bradley 1756-IF6CIS supports hot-swap (RIUP), can be inserted or removed while the system is powered on without affecting the operation of other devices.
Allen Bradley 1756-IF6CIS supports IEEE 32-bit floating-point numbers (full functionality, such as filtering and alarms) and 16-bit integers (basic functionality, with minimal memory usage).
Allen Bradley 1756-IF6CIS supports multi-owner mode, allowing input data to be read simultaneously by multiple controllers, enhancing system redundancy. And also supports channel-level or module-level calibration, performed via software (such as Studio 5000 Logix Designer) in conjunction with a high-precision current source, to compensate for hardware errors and improve measurement accuracy.
Product Working Principle
Allen Bradley 1756-IF6CIS can connect the on-site current signal to the module via terminals, which is then isolated by an isolation circuit before entering the A/D converter to be converted into a digital signal.
It features built-in filtering (notch filter, default 60Hz to suppress power frequency interference) and calibration compensation. The processed data is transmitted to the controller in digital form via the backplane.
It adopts the Producer/Consumer model, with the module actively multicasting data (no controller polling required), and the data includes timestamps (rolling timestamps or CST timestamps).
