Product Overview
The Bently Nevada 330901-00-90-05-02-00 is a core component of the 3300 XL NSv proximity sensor system. It is a standard-mount, unarmored eddy-current probe designed for high-precision vibration and position measurement on rotating machinery where space is extremely limited. It fully integrates the probe, extension cable, and proximity sensor into a reliable monitoring system, ideal for compact equipment where standard 5 mm and 8 mm sensor systems cannot fit.
Product Features
Ultra-Compact Design: The probe head and housing are designed for simple installation in counterbores, side-viewing areas, or tight spaces behind equipment. This makes it a good choice for measuring in small or hard-to-reach places.
Excellent Mechanical and Electrical Reliability:
The patented TipLoc process ensures a strong bond between the probe tip and the housing.
The patented CableLoc design offers a pull-out strength of up to 220 N (50 lbs), helping prevent the cable from coming loose.
The gold-plated brass ClickLoc connector has a locking feature that prevents it from loosening due to vibration and ensures good electrical contact.
Better Chemical Resistance: Compared to earlier models, the 3300 NSv probe housing material is more resistant to chemicals. This makes it suitable for use in tough process compressor environments.
Wide Operating Temperature Range: The probe can work reliably in very cold or hot temperatures, from -52°C to +177°C. This allows use in tough industrial conditions.
Ready-to-Use Design: This model (330901-00-90-05-02-00) comes with a 1/4-28 UNF thread, a 9-inch body, a 0.5-meter overall length, and includes a standard cable and ClickLoc connector. No extra assembly is needed.
Applications
This probe system is widely used for condition monitoring and protection of the following rotating machinery:
Machine Type: Centrifugal air compressors, refrigeration compressors, process gas compressors, small water pumps, motors, and fans.
Measurement Type:
Compatibility and Interchangeability
Compatible with 3300 RAM Systems: The 3300 NSv probe (including this model) is mechanically and electrically compatible and interchangeable with the probes and extension cables of Bently Nevada's previous 3300 RAM systems. When upgrading from a 3300 RAM system to a 3300 XL NSv system, the existing probe and extension cable can continue to be used.
Not Compatible with 3000/7000 Series Systems: When upgrading from earlier 3000 or 7000 Series I90 sensor systems, the probe, extension cable, and proximity sensor must be replaced with the NSv components.
System Integrity: Must be used with the specified 3300 NSv extension cable and 3300 XL NSv proximity sensor to form a complete and fully functional measurement system.
Performance Impact
Target Size Limitations:
For radial vibration measurements, the recommended minimum shaft diameter is 30 mm. Measuring on smaller shaft diameters can cause the average scale factor to vary by more than 10%.
For axial position measurements, the target plane diameter should be at least 8.9 mm, and 13 mm or greater is recommended. Otherwise, the scale factor will be affected.
Mounting Clearance Requirements:
Countersunk Backlash: The recommended minimum countersunk diameter is 13 mm. A value smaller than this will alter the system scale factor at high clearances.
Probe Crosstalk: To prevent electromagnetic interference (crosstalk) between probes, which can cause erroneous readings, maintain a minimum spacing of 23 mm between radial vibration probe tips and at least 25 mm between axial position probes.
Linear Range: The system has a 1.5 mm linear range, starting approximately 0.25 mm in front of the target. The recommended gap setting is 1.0 mm to ensure the output signal is within the optimal linear range.
