Product overview

The IOC4MK2 is a key component in the Parker Meggitt VM600Mk2 series monitoring system. It is not an independent working module but serves as an input/output (I/O) module, paired with the MPC4MK2 processor module to jointly form a complete machinery protection and condition monitoring solution. The IOC4MK2 must be used in pairs with the MPC4MK2 processor module (one MPC4MK2 must be paired with one IOC4MK2), and the two communicate through the backplane bus of the VM600Mk2 rack.

As the "hands and feet" of the system, they are responsible for the collection (input) of physical signals and the output (output) of control instructions. Hardware architecture: Single-width module, installed in the slot of the VM600Mk2 rack ABE04x or the compact rack ABE056. Main functions: Input: It provides 6 independent power supplies for sensors, receives the original signals from the probes, and transmits them to the MPC4MK2 for processing. Output: It provides relay output for alarm shutdown and analog output for connection to DCS/PLC, as well as buffered raw signal output (BNC interface). Version distinction: There are standard version IOC4MK2 and safety certification version IOC4MK2 SIL, the latter of which is used in situations with SIL2 safety level requirements.

High-density I/O integration: On a single module, 6 sensor inputs, 5 relays, 4 analog outputs and Ethernet communication are integrated, saving cabinet space.

Dual-rack compatibility: It can be installed in standard 19-inch racks (ABE04x, up to 12 modules) or compact single-module racks (ABE056), meeting both centralized and distributed installation requirements. Buffered Outputs: The J2 interface provides unprocessed "Raw" RAW signals, which can be used to connect third-party systems or oscilloscopes for waveform analysis, ensuring the independence and authenticity of the signals.

Safety-line: Built-in Safety circuit. When a module or system detects a fault, such as channel saturation or hardware error, it can automatically trigger the "safe state", forcibly driving the relay and analog output to the preset safe position.

Hot-swapping support: Supports hot-swapping. When replacing modules, there is no need to cut off the system power supply. Combined with MPC4MK2, automatic reconfiguration can be achieved to ensure continuous system operation.

Comprehensive self-diagnosis (BIST) : Built-in self-check function continuously monitors the health status of the module, such as power supply, watchdog, and communication, and provides feedback through FAULT relays and LED indicator lights.

Advantages

High integration: One module solves input, output and communication, reducing wiring.

Software-defined: Configured through VibroSight software, there is no need to toggle hardware switches or solder jumpers as with old-fashioned meters.

Dual network port design: The LAN port can be led out from either the MPC4 side of the front panel or the IOC4 side of the rear panel, facilitating wiring at the front and back of the cabinet.

Disadvantage

Must be used in pairs: It cannot be used alone like an independent transmitter and must occupy two slots (MPC+IOC).

High cost: Compared with simple 4-20mA converters, its unit price is relatively high and it is suitable for monitoring mid-to-high-end key equipment.
