MPC4 card

The MPC4 200-510-076-114 machinery protection card is the heart of the Series machinery protection system (MPS). This highly flexible card measures and monitors up to 4 dynamic signal inputs, and up to 2 speed inputs at the same time.

The dynamic signal inputs are fully programmable and can be configured to receive acceleration, velocity, displacement (proximity) and other type signals. It is also capable of measuring additional physical measures on-board, such as selected relative and overall vibration, Smax, eccentricity, thrust position, absolute and differential housing expansion, displacement and dynamic pressure.

Digital processing consists of filtering, integration or differentiation (if necessary), rectification (RMS, mean value, true peak or true peak-to-peak), order tracking (amplitude and phase) and measurement of the sensor to target airgap.

The tachometer inputs make it possible to connect signals of all types of speed sensors such as proximity probes, magnetic pulse pickup sensors or TTL, etc. Fractional tach ratios are also possible.

The setting is in metric or imperial units. Alert and Danger set-point are completely programmable as well as Alarm Time Delay, Hysteresis and Latching. The Alert and Danger thresholds can also be modified as a function of the speed or other outside information.

A digital alarm level output (inside the IOC4T input/output card) is provided for each alarm level. These alarm signals can be used to drive four local relays on the IOC4T card and/or may be routed via the rack’s Raw bus or Open Collector (OC) bus to drive relays on optional relay cards (RLC16 or IRC4 etc).

The processed vibration and speed (dynamic) signals are present at the rear of the frame (front panel of the IOC4T) as analogue output signals. Voltage (0 to 10 V) and current (4 to 20 mA) signals are supplied.
