The core technology is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. The coil inside the sensor probe generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field. When approaching a metal target, eddy currents will be induced on the target surface, thereby affecting the impedance of the coil. This impedance change is measured by the IQS900 signal conditioner and linearly converted into a voltage or current signal proportional to the gap.
The core advantage lies in its complete non-contact nature, which avoids friction and wear with the tested part, and has an infinitely long theoretical service life.
