Function and Role
The IQS 450 is the "brain" and "power source" of the TQ412. The IQS450 provides the -20V to -32V DC excitation power supply required by the TQ412 and receives high-frequency modulated signals from the sensor.
The internal circuit demodulates, amplifies and linearizes the signal, and ultimately outputs a standardized analog signal that has a strict linear relationship with the probe-to-target surface gap.
Supports two mainstream industrial output configurations
3-wire voltage output: -2V to -18V, dynamic range 16V, suitable for high-precision data acquisition systems.
2-line current output: -15.5mA to -20.5mA, dynamic range 5mA, strong anti-interference ability, suitable for long-distance transmission to PLC or DCS systems.
Synergy with TQ412
TQ412 and IQS450 must be ordered in pairs and undergo factory system-level calibration. This means that when replacing any component, as long as the model code matches (especially for the Bxx option, such as B21/B22 corresponding to a 2mm range), "plug and play" can be achieved without the need for complex on-site recalibration, greatly simplifying the maintenance process.
The input interface of IQS450 is a self-locking micro coaxial connector, which perfectly matches the male connector of TQ412, ensuring reliable connection and good shielding.

System-level monitoring platform: VM600 Mechanical Protection and Condition Monitoring System
Function and Role
VM600 is Meggitt's flagship online monitoring platform, an integrated solution that combines data acquisition, real-time analysis, alarm logic, historical storage and remote communication.
VM600 accommodates multiple IQS450 or other types of conditioning modules through a dedicated rack, enabling all-round monitoring of the entire or multiple machines.
Synergy with TQ412/IQS450
The analog output signal of IQS450 is directly connected to the data acquisition card of VM600. The VM600 not only records the original vibration waveform and axis trajectory, but also can perform advanced diagnostics such as spectral analysis, trend analysis, and start-stop analysis.
When the vibration or displacement detected by the TQ412 exceeds the preset safety threshold, the VM600 can immediately trigger the relay output for interlocking shutdown, protecting expensive rotating equipment from catastrophic damage.
Through its powerful software, users can remotely access all data for fault diagnosis and maintenance decision-making.
