Product overview
The Meggitt VM600Mk2 MPC4Mk2 + IOC4Mk2 is a modular system for the protection and condition monitoring of rotating machinery. It consists of two physically separate but functionally closely coordinated modules. The MPC4Mk2 is a processor module installed on the front of the rack, responsible for signal calculation, analysis, logical judgment and communication. The IOC4Mk2 is an input/output module, installed on the back of the rack, directly behind the MPC4Mk2, responsible for the collection and input of physical signals as well as the output of control instructions. This set of modules must be used in pairs to jointly form the monitoring capabilities of 4 dynamic channels and 2 auxiliary channels. It is an upgraded version of the first-generation VM600 system (MPC4/IOC4T) and is widely used in industrial sites that require high reliability.
Comparison of similar products
The older MPC4/IOC4T (VM600 Mk1) : Performance: The Mk2 series supports higher FFT resolution (6400 lines vs 800 lines) and has Ethernet communication, while the older models mainly rely on the VME bus. Reliability: The Mk2 series introduces the system Safety-line concept, which enables a more rapid response to faults. Configuration: The Mk2 series can be fully configured through software without the need for hardware jumpers. AM10Mk2 + IOC10Mk2: MPC4Mk2: Focuses on dynamic signal monitoring, including vibration, combustion, and rotational speed, and is suitable for high-speed rotating machinery. AM10Mk2: Focuses on temperature and slow-changing analog quantity monitoring, such as bearing temperature and oil pressure, and provides 10 analog inputs.
Usage method and precautions
Usage method
Hardware installation
Insert the MPC4Mk2 into the front slot of the rack, and insert the IOC4Mk2 into the back slot of the rack in the same position.
Wiring: Connect the sensor signal through the J1 interface and the alarm/stop relay through the J3 interface.
Communication: Connect the LAN port of the MPC4Mk2 or IOC4Mk2 to the switch using an Ethernet cable.
Software configuration: Open the VibroSight Protect software, scan the network discovery module, and perform channel configuration, alarm limit setting, and logic configuration.
Precautions for use
Mixing is strictly prohibited: Standard version modules cannot be mixed with SIL version modules in the same safety system. Although they can be physically plugged into the same rack, they must be logically isolated.
Channel saturation: In a SIL safety system, if the input channel is saturated for more than one hour, the system will automatically enter a shutdown state.
Relay configuration: In safety-related applications, relays must be configured in "Normally energized (NE)" and "Latched" mode.
IP address: MPC4Mk2 and IOC4Mk2 share the same IP address and cannot be connected to the network simultaneously. One of the interfaces needs to be selected for use.
