Product Description

VSB010 600-011 is the terminal base of the VSI010 communication module for the Meggitt VibroSmart system. It cannot operate independently and is installed on the DIN rail. It offers redundant power supply, multiple discrete control inputs, and two configurable SPDT relays. When paired with communication adapters, it supports industrial buses such as Modbus and PROFIBUS, serving as a data bridge between the vibration monitoring system and DCS/PLC. The module supports hot-swapping and has strong safety. It is widely used for the protection of large rotating machinery such as steam turbine units and compressors. When in use, the corresponding bus adapter needs to be selected and matched.

Important Notes

1. Cannot be used alone:

The VSB010 is only a base and must be used in conjunction with the VSI010 communication module. A single base cannot achieve communication functionality.


2. Adapter selection:

The VSF001 or VSF002 communication adapter needs to be selected separately for the bus protocol. The base itself does not have a bus interface.


3. Power supply specification:

Use 24V DC industrial power supply. It is recommended to use redundant power supply for power supply. Power fluctuations and surges can trigger the module to enter a fail-safe state.


4. Grounding and EMC:

Strictly follow the manual for single-point grounding. The power cables and signal cables in the control cabinet are routed separately to avoid strong electromagnetic interference affecting the safe communication of PROFIsafe.


5. Safety Circuit Debugging:

After the safety circuit debugging of PROFIsafe is completed, safety function verification is required. In the event of a safety failure, the module will enter fail-safe mode and requires a power-off and restart.


6. Installation environment:

Install inside the control cabinet, control temperature and humidity, and avoid dust, condensation and corrosive gases. Meet the working temperature range of the product.


7. Wiring operation:

Cut off the power before wiring. The terminal torque must strictly follow the manual. The terminal tape is mechanically encoded. Do not forcibly insert non-matching connectors to prevent damage to the base pins.


8. Module Lock:

Enabling the module lock function can prevent unauthorized removal of the VSI010 module and is suitable for unattended important units.
