Product Overview
IS200TREAH1ACC is a key safety control card designed by GE Energy for the SPEEDTRONIC™ Mark VIe control system.
This is a Turbine Emergency Trip (Turbine Emergency Trip) processor card, which is the "last line of defense" responsible for protecting the unit's safety in the Mark VIe control system.
In the Triple Modular Redundant architecture of Mark VIe, the TREA card typically works in conjunction with other cards such as TRPG and TREG, specifically handling emergency shutdown signals from sensors and directly triggering the trip relay to cut off the fuel supply, protecting the unit from damage.

Product Function Features
As an emergency trip board card, Microsecond Reaction has its firmware optimized to detect dangerous signals within microseconds and execute the trip logic, which is faster than the scanning cycle of ordinary controllers.
Hardwired Trip, in addition to being judged by software logic, the IS200TREAH1ACC board card usually has the output capability to directly drive external trip solenoids or relays, ensuring that the hardware level can cut off fuel even when the controller is deadlocked.
In the TMR system, the TREA board card will cross-reference data with other boards such as TREG and TRPG. Only when a majority vote is passed will the trip be executed, significantly reducing the probability of false trips and improving the system's safety.
The self-diagnosis function board card is equipped with a powerful Built-In Test function, which can monitor the hardware status of itself in real time. Once a fault is detected, it will immediately alarm and isolate the faulty unit.
Integration with IONet enables communication with other I/O board cards via high-speed IONet, allowing real-time acquisition of unit status data.
Use Case
At night, the power plant's load was low and the units were in a low-speed turning gear state. Suddenly, due to a fault in the lubrication system, the temperature sensor of the turbine bearing showed a temperature spike to a dangerous value of 120°C within 0.5 seconds. The IS200TREAH1ACC board installed in the Mark VIe cabinet received the abnormal data from the temperature sensor through IONet. The emergency trip logic inside the board determined that the temperature exceeded the set "critical shutdown value". TREA immediately sent a hard-wired trip signal to the fuel cutoff valve and cut off the power supply to the ignition system.
The unit safely shut down within 2 seconds. Due to TREA's rapid action, it prevented major equipment accidents such as bearing burnout and rotor bending, ensuring the safety of the power plant.
Problems encountered during use
Communication loss IONet Loss If the TREA board card is disconnected from the R/S/T network communication, it will cause an "Controller Not Responding" alarm. Although the board card may still be able to perform hard-wired tripping, it cannot obtain the latest process data, which may lead to the failure of protection.
Nuisance Trip If the on-site wiring is poorly shielded, causing electromagnetic interference to the vibration or speed signals, it may cause the TREA to misjudge as overspeed and trigger tripping, resulting in unplanned shutdown.
Power failure If the 28Vdc power is connected in reverse or the voltage is too low, the board card will not be able to start. The Power LED will not light up.
