Operation Parameters
Temperature Range: The operating temperature range is from -30 °C to 65 °C (-22 °F to 149 °F).
Input Voltage: The typical input voltage is 28V DC.
Thermocouple Types: It supports E, J, K, S, and T standard thermocouples as well as mV inputs with a span of -8mV to +45mV.
A/D Converter: It has a 16-bit A/D converter.
Common Mode Voltage: The common mode voltage is ±5 volts, and the AC common-mode rejection is 100dB @ 50/60Hz.
Normal Mode Rejection: It is 250mV rms @ 50/60Hz (±5%).
Product Features
Interface Function: This electrical interface connects one or two I/O Ethernet networks to an input terminal board for thermocouples.
Signal Conditioning and A/D Conversion: GE IS220PTCCH1A can receive the low voltage signals produced by the thermocouples, obtain high-accuracy conversion to digital signals through 16-bit A/D converter in order for the control system to process it.
Redundancy: GE IS220PTCCH1A can work in simplex, duplex and triple modular redundancy which increase the reliability and stability of the system.
Diagnostic Functions: Can conduct self-diagnotic,multiple power-up self-tests for flash memory, RAM, processor board hardware and Ethernet ports Additionally, GE IS220PTCCH1A provides constant monitoring of its internal power supplies to ensure that functions are correct.
Communication Function:Two 10/100 Ethernet ports and an infrared serial communications port for data communication and local diagnostic serial communications
Installation
Install Terminal Board: Attach the selected terminal board securely.
Connect the Module: Connect the PTCC I/O module to the terminal board connectors
Fasten the module: Mechanically fasten the modules to the threadedstuds close to the Ethernet ports. For the terminal board type, the studs are installed into a mounting bracket.
Connect the Ethernet Cables: Connect one or two ethernet cables based on the system configuration For redundancy, the module will plug into either port and if you are using dual ports, it is common to connect enet 1 to the network attached to the R controller.
Power Connection: For power connection, insert the connector on the side of the pack. That said, the I/O pack has an inherent soft-start feature that limits the current inrush for the power applications, thus there is no need to switch off the mains before connecting the cable.
Configuration: Use the ToolboxST application to set up the I/O pack as needed.
Application Range
Turbine Control Systems: GE IS220PTCCH1A used widely in General Electric's Mark VI/Mark VIe control system series for managing and controlling gas, hydro, and steam industrial turbine systems, offering precise temperature measurement and monitoring for turbines
Industrial Automation: GE IS220PTCCH1A can be used as a key component of the temperature measurement and control system in various industrial automation fields,Connect the thermocouple sensor with the upper control system, realizing the accurate measurement and control of temperature in industrial production process.
Troubleshooting
Power Issues: If the power indicator LED is off, check the power supply voltage and connection. Make sure the input voltage is within the recommended level, and the power connector is properly connected.
Ethernet Connection Problems: Ethernet problemsIn the event of an abnormal state being displayed in the Ethernet connection indicator LED, the Ethernet cables and connectors should be thoroughly checked. Check your network settings and that the module's Ethernet ports are configured properly.
Various abnormalities observed in thermocouple signal: If the measured temperature values are intentional or fluctuating, check that the thermocouple sensors and connections are working properly. Check that thermocouple types are correctly set up in the module, and the crystals are shielded and have a low resistance.
Module Not Functioning Properly: In case of module that doesn't boot, or modules are not working correctly, a power-up self-test may be performed. Verify the flash memory, RAM, processor board hardware, and the ethernet ports.
