Product Overview
The VM600 ABE042 204-042-100-011 systemracks are used to house hardware for the VM600 series of machinery protection and/orcondition monitoring systems, from Parker Meggitt'svibro-metere product line.
VM600 ABE042 have a standardheight of 6U and provide mounting space (rack slots)for up to 15 single-width VM600Mk2/VM600 modules (card pairs), or a combination of single-width andmultiple-width modules (cards). The racks areparticularly suitable for industrial environments where equipment must be permanently installed in19" cabinets or panels.
Mechanical structural parameters
1. Specifications: Standard 19-inch rack, 6U height;
2. Shell: extruded aluminum alloy frame + solid aluminum structural parts, upper and lower plastic module guide strips, bare aluminum color;
3. Weight: about 6.5kg without power supply and plug-in card;
4. Installation method: cabinet embedded installation, panel wall-mounted installation (ABE040/ABE042 bracket distinction);
5. Slot layout (front and rear partitions)
Front of rack (processing module area)
Power Supply Specifications
Input: Dual AC/DC versions, 115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz;
Power rating of 330W per unit; a fully configured rack unit supports operation at ambient temperatures up to 50°C;
Dual power supply redundancy: if one circuit fails, the other assumes 100% of the load, ensuring uninterrupted system operation.
Hardware Installation Steps
Secure the ABE040/ABE042 204-042-100-011 rack to a 19-inch control cabinet or equipment panel;
Install the RPS6U power supply module into the rear slot and connect the PSB9xx I/O power backplane; for CSA-certified applications, use the specified PSB910/920/962/990 power backplane;
Install processing cards—such as the CPU controller, MPC4 vibration protection module, and XMx16 condition monitoring module—into the front slots in the designated order; install the corresponding I/O cards and RLC16 relay cards in the matching rear slots;
Install blanking panels of the appropriate specifications in all empty slots to ensure electromagnetic shielding and safety protection;
Connect field sensor cables (accelerometers, eddy current probes, speed probes) to the terminals of the rear I/O cards; the I/O cards communicate signals with the front processing cards via the internal bus;
Connect the communication network cable to the CPU card's network port to link with the host computer.
System Software Commissioning and Operation
Install VibroSight or VM600 MPSx configuration software on the host computer and connect to the rack's CPU module via Ethernet;
The software detects all cards within the rack and matches them with the hardware coding of the rear slots to complete module address binding;
Configure parameters for each channel, including sensor type, measurement range, danger thresholds, and interlock relay output logic;
Enable protection logic such as power failure relays and equipment over-vibration interlocks to establish complete online monitoring;
Access raw vibration waveforms and speed data in real-time during operation, and log equipment fault events;
Replace cards without powering down the entire unit; hot-swapping is supported, and operation resumes after the software re-detects the new module.
